Sitting Down and Hitting the Town

Oh Yeah. That's awesome....FYP is officially DONE. Woo Hoo!! Handed in my absolute monster of a report today. It actually looks like a book.
I'd be totally lying if I said I wasn't stressing out last night with it. Was up all night trying to make it perfect and I'm pretty tired now 25,000 words later.
I just like sitting down now without having to worry about doing it. It's greeeaat. Thinking of hitting the town later to celebrate  if I don't collapse from lack of sleep and food beforehand.
Hopefully that won't happen.

Speaking of foooooood....
This is our food of the blog. It's a cheesecake. A strawbraaary cheesecake. Chosen cos I had my first ever taste of cheesecake last weekend. And it was yummy. Hence it makes it here, my blog, where it'll live forever. :)
Note: (The cheesecake I had wasn't actually strawberry...though it had strawberries on it, but it wasn't strawberry. You get me? This one was chosen cos it looks pretty awesome. :) )

Until next time!

Disbeliefs and sighs of relief

So yeah, I was glancing back at my last 2 posts and realised that both of them had pictures of food in them, so I think I'm gonna start a food of the blog section. So here is todays' food of the blog. Its Oriental Pork. The lads cooked some today and it was yummy. It didn't really look like this pic...even though we have chopsticks in the house, but it still looked nice. :)

But now to other matters...

Demo Day is over.
No, seriously. I'm super serial.
I never thought the day would come when Demo day would be in the past. But it is! Look at a calender, and you'll see it there, in the past. Still in a state of disbelief over it.

Words can't really describe how happy I was at 4:30pm on Friday. But I did look a little something like this...

As opposed to how I looked the weeks leading up to it...

See what I did with the black and white there? As an art critic or someone else who likes to use unnessessarily complex words(you know who Im talkin about) might say: "It really shows the incongruity between happiness and despair through the utilisation of downcast black and white shades in lieu of vibrant ravishing colour."
(Eugh. I hate U.S. dictionaries that think he word "colour" should be color. It keeps underlining it in red. It's not wrong!!! I don't know how to change it to UK dictionary...or if you even can.)

But yeah, I should be an artist or something obviously. :)

Until next time amigos. :)

Sighs and Donuts

Hi!

Yes...I know in my last blog I said I would update more regularly...well technically I said I would try to update regularly so I wasn't lying. But I have been and still am faaaaairly busy. To say the least.
To give a breakdown of the endless work ahead...Demo Day is Friday week, Software in the Monday after, Flash in Friday after that,Report in week after that,Databases in week after that and also Systems Analysis...PLUS another Distributed Systems project sometime in there too. *sigh* No, I don't know how we do all this work either.
4th year, is not fun.
But it'll all be over soon and what will we do then? We'll be in the REAL world. And that scares me a little bit.

While I'm here I might as well rant. Why oh why is demo day on the Friday of Rag week?? What sense does this make? None. I felt like crying when I saw the line up of cool stuff that's going on during the daytime.
DODGEMS. They have frickin' BUMPER CARS man.
But no, I won't get to enjoy the feeling of acting like I'm 5 again, I'll be FYPing it up. In my room. *sigh*

...........*Begins to cry*....
..........*Begins to sob*.....

I'll just have to get over it. Tough it out y'know? Grrr and all that.
*sob*
At least donuts(my new obsession don't ya know - jam ones, none
of this icing crap) are always there to cheer me up.

And now for a homer moment:
 "Mmmm...donuts..."

*Droooool*

And Tea...don't forget the tea. :)

I'm baaaaa-aaaack!

Hello. After quite a long absence from my blog I have returned to grace you all with my presence....
So... yeah. What have I been up to? Well, not much apart from college stuff. Which is all very exciting as Im sure you all know. Crazy FYP...um...parties, project and assignment drinking sessions and a whole bunch of lecture bbqs. (How awesome would that be. Seriously, lectures...but with a bbq. Like outside in the sun with burgers and stuff. And sausages. That bbq smell on a sunny day. We could have t
hem in that little green area beside the csis. It could totally work.)
I wish I wasn't lying. Yeah I've been doing all that stuff minus the party bit(well there has been some parties..not many, but they existed) drinking session bit and bbq bit- (Seriously Colin, I'm waiting for a bbq now. Even your hot plate thing would do. Think of the burgers. And we could say "Toss another burger on the barbie" in Australian accents. Come on.)

Oh yeah.

Anyway, so yes I'd like to keep this blog thing going now, update it a bit every few days, vent my rage, log my happiness, record my boredom and all that. Might even give it a little makeover....some love and affection.

Oh. Try and give me an answer to this question after thinking about it for about 10 seconds, like I had to do today- I'm interested to see what other peoples answers would be...
"What is the hardest decision you have ever had to make?"
Life or work or college related. A bit personal for an interview I thought but had to answer it on the spot!

Have a great weekend!

*sniffle*

Oh I hate being sickly. As if trying to concentrate on study wasn't bad enough, someone had to throw a head-cold into the mix. And it's disgusting. :( My eyes start crying at random times...and I'm not sure whether thats from the head cold or just from thinking about the amount of work there is to do! I just wish it would go away and leave me alone -the cold that is...actually the work can go away too if it wants. That'd be great. Thaaaaanks.
Ah having a cold has it's benefits. You get slightly pampered - as I type, Ferg just handed me a cup of tea and jam rings. Service with a smile. Haha. And my mam came out to the house yesterday with a bag of goodies for me, including biscuits, corn flakes (if you know me at all you'll know how much i love them), grapes, a box of cappuchinos, a can of pringles and a ton of other stuff. Of course it's not nice when you can't actually taste any of it. Oh well.

Anyway, looks like I'm gonna have to summon the energy to get back into the study now. *sniffle*

Presentations. Again :)

Hello again,
I was just thinking about our presentations which are (thankfully) over and done with now. As they were kept fairly open, it was interesting to see all of the different ideas and views everyone had. Some people took a fairly personal approach to the presentation, talking abut their own views on things while others stuck with facts after researching different topics.

All in all, it was good to get some more practice in for presenting, (The only presentations I've ever done were all done this year!) and I think it helped shake some more nerves off for the future...of course seeing colm make it through some serious "typo's" helped too! Haha!

Writing Games Analysis module...earlier the better?

Just wanted to include a quick note on our Writing Games Analysis module. We discussed in our last class whether it would be a good idea to have the module earlier in the course, or later. As a member of the year which signifies the first time the course has been run, I think it's very important to have a look at when some of our modules are being taught on the course.

I think that Writing Games Analysis provides good fundamentals for games theory and that it would be of much greater benefit if it was taught a lot earlier on the course. It is during our college years that we should be thinking about the best/new/different/fresh ways to make computer games(after all, we represent the future of the industry). If I had the ideas and knowledge I've aquired from this module at an earlier time I think I would have been better prepared for later on, not to mention my FYP. Writing Games Analysis should be an essential module, early in the course.

You need ideas before you start implementing them.
